Spooky Treat Bag

Bite Me

Most of the projects from my newsletter are different projects that you won’t see on my blog, but I had to share this one here. I love stamping directly on the treat bags and adding a simple tag.

The framelit from Chalk Talk is perfect for that. Not only does it have the opening at the top that lets you just pop it over your ribbon, since it is a framelit you can make it any length you want. I lengthened it to make the sentiment from Halloween Bash fit.

This bag holds 4 large Chocolate Chip cookies.  These bags are food safe, but to keep the oil from the cookies off the bag, I first packaged them in the food safe gusseted cello bags (on the clearance rack for only $1.59 for 25 bags!)

Halloween Bash and Tuesday Specials!

It’s starting to feel like Halloween! I know, most people don’t get excited about chilly, rainy days; but I adore them! Perfect. Halloween. Weather.

Halloweenbash

In honor of this lovely weather (yes, lovely), I have a spooky card for you. I thought these devilishly, eerie bats were the perfect starting point and all they really needed was some fabulous word art to finish the theme. I get to spend the day creating more creepy delights for you. LOVE! Before I go, I wanted to remind you that today is Tuesday so check out the new weekly specials below……

Best of Halloween Flip Card

Halloween flip card

Here is a Spooky flip card that I made using the new Circle Card Thinlets, a die that cuts and scores this fun fold! To get the DSP to line up nicely, I just used the thinlet to cut it. Then I trimmed it down to fit the card. The image is stamped on a white circle and then sponged to add the color. I cut the bats from an image in the Halloween Bash set.

I am getting addicted to the Washi Tape! They are just fun to play with and mix and match. I really love how they make it easy to “fill in” anywhere your design “needs something”.  For a smaller image like this, they are the perfect background. I handcut the little bats from another image in the Halloween Bash set. I love the little bat image and have used it on several projects. The tombstone background is a Windows framelit piece that has 3 of the sides cut down.

Two Tags Candy Holder

two tags halloween candy holder

Here is a cute little Halloween treat holder. You can stack smaller candies inside, or use it as a band around a bundle of longer candy. These are quick and easy. Just cut two of the larger tags, using the Two Tags die and the Big Shot machine. Emboss the tags if you like, and then glue them together on the bottom fold. Fold the top half of the tags up to form a triangle and tie at the top. Fun stuff!

Haunted Forest

haunted forest

I absolutely adore this image. It’s so spooky and sweet.  It hints of cooler weather, a plethora of pumpkin goodies and little munchkins in sweet costumes. It makes me want to put in my Sleepy Hollow DVD and gaze at Johnny Depp for while. I can’t wait for fall!
When I saw this Haunted Forest stamp in the Holiday mini, I knew I wanted to mask  a moon and sponge in a spooky sky.  I embossed the image with Iridescent Ice to give it some sparkle. I started out with a matted image, but then decided to really glitz it up with a glittered chipboard piece. I have to admit that I really had fun creating this card!

Harvest Home

I made this card for a challenge over on a new challenge blog that is just starting up called SUO Challenges. There are a ton of challenge blogs out there and they are designed to get your creativity flowing. When you challenge yourself in ways outside of your normal style or comfort zones, you will be amazed at how your confidence in designing your own cards will flourish. I have played along with challenges before, but this is the first time I have actually posted to a challenge blog. Usually, I start a card, but before I can finish it the deadline has passed! This is a new design blog and I recognize and admire many of the design team members. The challenge is to make a fall card. That was easy since I am in fall mode right now!
