Festive Flurry Thinlet

Festive Flurry

I have always loved making flip cards, but the process in the past was fairly involved. Our new thinlet dies make them so quick and easy! I extended the card by using a piece of card stock that was 8 1/2″ and allowed the end to sit over the back edge of the die rather than under it where it could be cut. Doing this makes a little line on your card that is the perfect place to fold it so that now you have a gatefold card with a flip mechanism as well.

This picture shows the gatefold opening. The picture below shows the surprise greeting on the flip side and the message on the gatefold. I like this added  length to the card because there is still plenty of room to include a hand written message.

Here is a Spooky flip card that I made using the new Circle Card Thinlets, a die that cuts and scores this fun fold! To get the DSP to line up nicely, I just used the thinlet to cut it. Then I trimmed it down to fit the card. The image is stamped on a white circle and then sponged to add the color. I cut the bats from an image in the Halloween Bash set.

Eeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Yes! that is me squealing as I press the submit button! How stinkin’ cute is this card?!!

I had so much fun putting this together.

I was going through my samples and was really sad to remove that Merry and Bright diorama card that everyone loved. The original was a swap made by Nancy Hartzell. I thought, I have to make another one of these. Of course, this set immediately came to mind because I didn’t own it yet! So, now I do! I couldn’t wait to show you guys, and then I thought you might want to make your own at stamp camp in May. So this is now one of our stamp camp projects!

This picture gives you a better idea of what a diorama card is. They are really pretty simple to make, once you have the correct dimensions. I’ll be adding a tutorial for the diorama card here soon.

I like how the sentiment turned out. It needed something and this is what I came up with. Just a paper banner and some punched flowers. They are smushed to add a little texture and I added a dot of crystal effects and some micro beads to the center of the flowers. It really stepped it up.

Fun, Fun!! I hope you like it.

Happy Stampin’
