12 Gifts of Christmas

Tags til Christmas

These are the last two gifts in my 12 gifts of Christmas series. These are quick and easy to do, but show how easily you can personalize or dress up a simple little gift to give it that special touch.

The first is a popular idea, just fill a mug with baked goods or goodies of any kind and package it up with a pretty bow and tag. I actually bought this already packaged and just added the tag and bow.

Bells and Boughs

I made a bunch of these little candles for myself. I love the scented holiday candles, but when I buy the yummy smelling ones, I am hungry all the time! So I like to buy the votive candles and just burn them for a short time. I added our glass glitter to the base of the candle and they look so sparkly and festive in a little crystal holder. Just paint some glue on the candle and roll it in the glitter. Our glass glitter is so pretty. It’s made from real glass and gets a really nice antique look as it ages. Pop a couple of these candles in a cello bag with a topper for a nice little gift.

Thanks for looking!

Cello Topper

Spotlight on Christmas

I wanted to make a quick post with a little more detail on the Big Shot.

This cello topper was made using the Top Note Bigs Die.

Very quick little project using the Spotlight on Christmas set and the 5 petal flower punch. The designer paper is trimmed around the perforated edge to make a nice layer.  The flower petals are edged with a gold pen. I wish I had some neat chocolates for the cello bag, but had to settle for york peppermint patties. The good stuff keeps disappearing ……………

Big Shot

This is the Big Shot die cutting machine. The dies roll through the machine which puts pressure on them to cut or emboss the paper.

Big Shot

You will use a die, paper, and cutting mats layered together to form a “sandwich”. Different dies require different sandwich configurations, depending on how thick it is.

Big Shot

This is the pillowbox die after it comes through the machine. Some dies have score or perforation lines.

You can view the dies that are available in the back of the Mini Holiday Catalog by clicking on the link on the right.
