Punch Bunch

Punch Bunch

This is another Saleabration set that is just a joy to use. If you love quick and easy cards, if you love to use punches rather than hand cutting with scissors, if you appreciate that tools make all the difference when it comes to designing quick and easy cards….. then this is the set for you. All of the images coordinate with one of our punches and this is a must have set for creating those cards that you need to stamp up in just a few minutes.

This card was quick and easy but because I added certain design elements, still grabs your attention. The first element that will pull a card together quickly is texture. Add a little texture and you are well on your way to designing a card that feels complete. I don’t know how many times I have looked at a card and said “it still needs something”, usually that thing is texture. Let the mood you are trying to create, dictate the type of texture you use. In this case I was going for soft and delicate. The tiny embossed polka dots and the satin pastel ribbon were perfect for that.

The next quick and easy design element that I used was a little pattern in the background. You can accomplish that in a lot of ways. Stamp or roll a background, use an embossing folder, use textured card stock or grab some background paper. One of the best purchases I have made in recent months is a pad of our assorted designer DSP. These are more subtle designs that include all the colors from one of our new color groups. This makes coordinating a card design, super easy. Of course, I had to go with pastel colors from our Subtles Collection for this baby card.

Usually it’s the little details that really make a card, and this one is no different. I added a little more texture and detail with the delicate border along the edge of the designer paper, using our Pinking Hearts border punch. The final detail that I added was to pin the tag to the ribbon using one of our Vintage Trinkets. These elements are just enough to add some sweetness and interest to the design.

Even with the extra steps and layers on this card, it went together in a hurry. Having the right tools on hand, made all the difference in that!

Thanks for stopping by!

Flight of the Butterfly

Flight of the Butterflies

This is another card from my pop up class. If I used this design again, I would probably add some paper piercing or embossing to the card base. I had already added my inside pop up piece, so I couldn’t do that for this card without starting over!

It is really hard for me to make a card without DSP or embossing, now that I have gotten addicted to both concepts!

The top note die cut is cut in half and used as a layer behind my focal image and the little corner piece has been embossed with a texturz plate and then punched with the Photo Corners punch. The flowers are stamped and cut out and then layered on leaves cut with the little leaves sizzlet die. There is a 1/4 inch punched circle added to the flowers
