This and That and Rain or Shine

I know that title doesn’t make much sense. I am covering a lot of stuff today! Several new products (a new product line!) and of course a card for you too. I’ll start with our new product line called This and That. These are wonderful little whatever books called smash books. They harken back to the old time scrapbooks which were as much about mementos as they were photos. These little books are so much more, though. You can use them for all kinds of things other than the scrapbook variety.

Use them to keep track of your redecorating or remodeling project. Make a journal to track baby’s first year, or a year in your life. Get organized for Christmas. Track your weight loss. These books are designed for quickly jotting ideas or storing photos, scraps, notes and mementos. Just tuck it in, tape it on, jot it down and smash it closed. Fast and fabulously fun!

This and That smash book from Stampin Up!

fabric frenzy

All of our fabric is half off, this week only!! Call me, email or order online, but hurry! This sale ends on Sunday, March 31st! They have only set aside a specific amount of fabric for this sale, when it’s gone the sale price goes away.

I am not sure if you have noticed, but Stampin’ Up!  is making a lot of changes lately. We are rolling out new stamps almost monthly and new products as soon as they become available, rather than waiting for the next catalog transition. I like this, and I love that it allows us to introduce trendy items and stamps almost monthly. I’ll keep links to these new items posted in my sidebar, but the trend seems to be that we will offering seasonal sets or bundles almost monthly and new single stamps every two or three months. The current batch of single stamps is about to expire and I am hoping we will see some new ones around the first of April. Here are links to the current singles, in case you want to get them before they go away on March 31st.

Perfectly Preserved Button Jar

Perfectly Preserved

After playing with the Orchard Print paper and the Perfectly Preserved set for a while, I decided to take the cute little jar a different direction. There are so many possibilities with this set! I wanted  a birthday theme, so  I decided to go vintage with a sweet little jar of buttons and lace. I wrapped the jar topper in lace and added a ruffle and a flower accent. Then I topped it off with a valance and more lace and ribbon. I couldn’t find a sentiment that was the right size for the look I wanted, so I hand cut a smaller sentiment and layered it.  As you can see, I was playing with all of my favorite things on this one!

Layered Labels

Today I have another gate fold card for you. This one was cut using the Labels Collection dies to create the ornate “gates”. I used the Layered Labels set to create a belly band to keep the card closed and a sentiment is layered behind it, inside the card. The paper is from the retired Beau Chateau collection. Thank heaven for MDS, since I have that download, I will never run out of one of my favorite papers of all time! Love that collection.

12 Gifts of Christmas

Tags til Christmas

These are the last two gifts in my 12 gifts of Christmas series. These are quick and easy to do, but show how easily you can personalize or dress up a simple little gift to give it that special touch.

The first is a popular idea, just fill a mug with baked goods or goodies of any kind and package it up with a pretty bow and tag. I actually bought this already packaged and just added the tag and bow.

Bells and Boughs

I made a bunch of these little candles for myself. I love the scented holiday candles, but when I buy the yummy smelling ones, I am hungry all the time! So I like to buy the votive candles and just burn them for a short time. I added our glass glitter to the base of the candle and they look so sparkly and festive in a little crystal holder. Just paint some glue on the candle and roll it in the glitter. Our glass glitter is so pretty. It’s made from real glass and gets a really nice antique look as it ages. Pop a couple of these candles in a cello bag with a topper for a nice little gift.
