Bliss in Black and White

Bliss Saleabration

This set is really stunning done in black and white. Simply elegant. The components from the Bliss set are great together, but combine with other sets really well too. I used the flourish stamp from Easter Blossoms in the current Occasions mini catalog. I like it!

Greeting Card Kids Valentine

Greeting Card Kids

I had to use my sweet little Greeting Card Cutie again for this valentines card. How neat is this embossed border? I love it. This is the new Framed Tulips Textured Impressions folder from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Super Easy card. Of course when you have the right tools, the design process is quick and painless!

Gift Card or Money Holder

Greeting Card Kids

Can you tell which are my favorite toys to play with this season? Greeting Card Kids, the Northern Flurries embossing folder, and the colors blue and red. I can’t stop myself!

This is a gift so many of us give during the holidays and there are so many different ways to present them. I wanted to incorporate a gift card or money holder into a card. I also wanted to make one that would be very quick to mass produce if necessary, which always brings the Big Shot to mind for me. This is what I came up with.

The image was the only thing that was a little time consuming on this card, but it really didn’t take that long. I used my quick watercolor technique. My New Year’s resolution is to learn how to use my new camera and all the technology to edit and upload videos, so hopefully that will happen in the first week or so of January! I think I’ll make that technique the first video. It is really simple and just uses the markers and aqua painter.

Greeting card kids

I spritzed the card using the Silver Foil Smooch Spritz. I love the overall shimmery look it creates on the card stock. Very pretty. I can never do justice to the shimmer or bling in my photo’s.

Gift card

I decided that our scallop envelope would be the perfect gift card or money holder. So easy! I created the little pocket and then attached a piece of lace to the back of the envelope with glue dots. Then I just laid the card in the envelope and tied it into place. The sentiment looks crooked in this photo, but really the envelope is placed on a slant on the inside of the card.

Autumn Days

Autumn Days

Here is a card using only the stems from the Autumn Days set. I stamped the images once and then stamped again without re-inking. Then I cut the image out using the 1 3/8 inch square punch. The saying is tied on using our hemp cord that has been colored with the Dusty Durango marker. The Sahara Sand paper works wonderfully with the Soft Suede.

Fun For Spring!

A Good Egg Basket

 Stamp Camp Projects

Here are more fun projects that we made for Stamp Camp this month.

This is a cute little basket using the Scallop Envelope Sizzix Die. We added a handle made with braided grosgrain ribbon which gave it a little sturdiness.

The basket is embellished using A Good Egg and designer paper from the hostess pad.

View a tutorial for making this basket/box  here

Basket Handle

A side view of the basket so that you can see the  braid detail and that we attached the handle with the Jumbo brads.

I made my own basket filler using designer paper scraps, a paper shredder and my crimper tool.

Cheep Talk

This was a super easy card.  I love the new eyelet scallop punch, and for some reason I am on a Tangerine Tango kick right now! I thought about adding something else, but resisted and I am glad I did. I like the simplicity.

The set is Cheep talk.

Tangerine Tango ribbon

Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point and Whisper White inks and paper.

Trendy Trees

I know it is odd to have a Blue tree, but somehow it just worked with the Designer Series paper from the Sale-A-Bration selection. The ribbon is also from the Sale-A-Bration Ribbon bundle.

So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White inks and card stock.

Happy Stampin!

Embellishment Opportunities

crazy for cupcakes

Many of you have heard me say it……”There are no stamping mistakes, only embellishment opportunities!” This card is one of those which turned out very different than the original design I had intended, due to a couple of those “opportunities”. I love the way it all came together, though.

The first mistake I mean, opportunity, was cutting my ribbon too short, but playing with it gave me this pretty application. One I will be using again. I really like it!

The next thing that didn’t work out as originally planned was the rub-on sentiment. First, I used the white sentiment from Chit Chat. It got lost in the paper design and the design showed through a little.  I wanted  to use the dark one, but instead of starting over with a new layer; I decided to offset the white a little and give it a shadow or embossed look. Turned out even better than I had hoped!

Those rub-ons are addictive! You get over 150 sayings in two colors and they are so easy to apply. This card also uses the Rasberry Tart DSP (Gorgeous). The colors are Pretty in Pink, Cameo Coral, Real Red, Rose Red and Kiwi Kiss. I also used the Ribbon Originals-Pigtails. The Kiwi polkadot is so much fun, I’ll be using it up quickly! Of course, the set is Crazy for Cupcakes. You’ll be seeing a lot of this one.

Happy Stampin’
