Chalk Talk

Chalk Talk

The new Annual Catalog is officially live and full of wonderful new things. The Chalk Talk set is one of my favorites! I am kind of hooked on this technique (Faux Chalk) so it is wonderful to have some images that make it quick and easy!

The fussiest part of this card is the bow. I just sponged some “chalk” on Basic Black card stock. You could use chalk if you have it, but I prefer our Whisper White craft pad and a sponge.

I stamped and cut out the image (Black StazOn on Whisper white). There are framelits for this set! Next, I sponged a doily with tea stain and added an embossed border. The vanilla flowers have been smushed  into the primrose petal pad to add some color (yes, smushed is the technical term). Love how this one turned out.

I hope you get to stamp today!

Oh Hello

Oh hello

These are two of my favorite things from the Spring Catalog that expires in just a few days! I am thrilled that both the Oh Hello, stamp set and the DSP pattern made it into the new catalog! Although the paper is in a different color combination, so I’ll be getting more of this color before it goes away on the 31st. I am completely fixated on Calypso Coral lately! I love how these work together with the doilies. Kind of contemporary shabby chic.

Secret Garden

Secret Garden

I have been wanting to make a floral card using the Perfectly Preserved jar image since I got the set. This card was inspired by one I skimmed past on pinterest a while back, I don’t know who to credit, but the design has been haunting me. I have to admit that I burned myself out on flower cards and haven’t played with any of my floral sets in quite some time, but I thought I would give Secret Garden a shot. I love several of the flowers in the set and the fact that it has a matching Framelit set for cutting them out was all it took to convince me. I am officially falling in love with floral cards again!

I had to stamp the jar on acetate…..also something that I have thinking about for a while. The Perfectly Preserved set is still available by the way, at least until the Spring Catalog expires. I just love the white flowers against the Crumb Cake! The sentiment stamp is from the new catalog and is called Label Love. There is a matching punch….so even more to love!

Thanks for stopping by!

There will be other stamps available to make Card 4 a Thank you card.

Hearts A Flutter

Card 5 will have several options. The Blue Ribbon set has other sentiments so this could be a birthday, end of the school year/awards or other congratulations. There will also be an option to use the Four Season set and just make it a Spring card with any sentiment inside that you would like.

Hearts a Flutter Banner and Beautiful Wings

Hearts a flutter

I think I reached for all of my favorite things when I was creating this card. I just can’t get enough of Hearts a Flutter and this new Honeycomb embossing folder. Primrose Petals and any blue (this one is Pool Party) seems to be my current color addiction. Obviously I could not be any more in LOVE with this More Amore DSP. Sorry, pun intended. It is necessary, sometimes, to keep all those other voices in my head entertained!

This was just basic die cutting and the only thing stamped was the sentiment, but I have a little tip for you. {TIP} To get the hexagon shapes, just run a piece of DSP through the Big Shot in the Honeycomb EF and then snip out the little inserts along the score lines! Fun stuff!!

Thanks for stopping by!

From the Heart

from my heart

These are some of my favorite prints from the More Amore Designer Series Paper in the Spring Catalog. Pretty and soft. I can’t stop putting banners on all of my cards since I got this Hearts a Flutter set of framelits.  I really like how this one turned out, it uses a lot of tools, but it really goes together pretty quickly. That is what is great about having cool tools!

Thanks for looking!

Chalkboard Art Technique

Chalk technique

This is the masculine card that we made at Stamp Camp last month for Valentines Day. I really like the way it turned out, so I used it for my Darling husband’s valentine. He loved the new technique. The technique is very simple. Add a chalkboard background by rubbing a little chalk or white ink on black or green card stock with a sponge. I like to emboss my main images using white ep to make them easier to work with. You can then add depth, detail and even color with colored pencils or our white chalk pen. Add additional elements by stamping in white ink with no embossing. Be sure to add those elements after the embossing or they will grab your powder.

Have fun trying this technique!

Hearts A Flutter Framelits

Delightful Dozen

Here is a really quick and simple card. I used the Hearts a Flutter framelits for the larger hearts and then I stamped and hand cut the smallest heart from the More Amore specialty DSP. I added some embossing to some of the pieces and stamped a simple sentiment. I really like the way it turned out. Clean and simple cards are the hardest for me, for some reason!

Happy Stampin’
