12 Gifts of Christmas

Tags til Christmas

Over the next few weeks I’ll be highlighting several gift Ideas that are perfect for holiday giving. I’ll be covering a lot of different gift options and decided to start with one that is quick and easy and inexpensive.

This cute little collection of tags is one of those simple little items that you can tuck in to a festive gift basket as a little extra or is great when you need a bunch of inexpensive gifts. Our PTA used to give a little something to each teacher and support staff each day of the week leading up to the Christmas break and this would be perfect for that. It would also be a great item if you wanted to leave a little something on all of your co-workers desks.

Who can’t use a few extra Christmas tags for those last minute gifts? I literally stamped this in less than 10 minutes. I stamped a bunch of images on Whisper White card stock and punched them out using various punches. This set is wonderful, because each stamp has a coordinating punch.(AND it is on sale this month for 20% off when you buy it with the Decorative Label punch!) It took no time at all. I layered a few on additional punched pieces and added to/from on the back of a few. To finish them off, I tied string on about half of them and put a strip of sticky strip on the back of the rest. The recipient can simply peel off the pink cover and their tag will be self adhesive.

Tip: A needle threader was a huge help in pulling the thread through the tags as well as pulling the ribbon through the small punched holes on the topper. This is the method I used to attach the topper to the cello bag.

Royal Blog Tour

Welcome Lords and Ladies to this stop on the Royal Blog Tour! I hope you enjoy your visit here and choose to come back often.

The set that I will be highlighting for the tour is the very versatile,  Got Treats. The first project I have prepared for you is  a card using the gingerbread man and our yummy Jolly Holiday Designer Series paper. I stamped the little gingerbread men, cut them out and popped them up on some brushed silver card stock cut to look like a cookie sheet.

ETA: I have gotten many wonderful comments on my Cookie Sheet Card! Thank you all so much. I first copied this idea years ago from a 3 dimensional scrapbook sticker I saw. I have also seen many other versions of this idea stamped throughout the years, so I wanted to clarify that it isn’t a new concept and I don’t want to leave the impression that it is an original concept! Really it has been out there for a while! Thanks everyone.

This is one of those really simple but stunning cards that are great for mass producing.

I started by embossing the Whisper White layer with the Northern Flurries embossing folder. Then I spritzed it with champagne mist shimmer spray. After drying, I stamped the sentiment in Real Red, added some rhinestone jewels and layered it on a Real Red base. Super Easy!

Punch Potpourri Book Mark

We made this pretty little bookmark at stamp camp this month. It slips over the edge of the page you are wanting to mark, as shown below. It makes a lovely little added touch when giving a book as a gift. These are really very simple to make. Start with a square piece of card stock (this one is 4 inches). Fold the top corners in to the center to form a triangle that meets about halfway down the square of card stock. Then cover the folds with a piece of dsp to secure the corner. Decorate!

Stampin’ Stuff

Stamps: Punch Potpourri
Ink: Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede Classic Inks
Paper: Very Vanilla and Marina Mist Card Stock, Newsprint DSP
Fun Stuff: Chantilly Crochet Trim, Eyelet border punch, Two Step Bird XL Punch, Full Heart XL Punch, Boho Blossoms XL Punch, Basic Pearls

Royal Blog Tour

You may have noticed the Royal Blog Tour Logo in my sidebar. I thought I would give a little explanation of what it is all about. A blog tour is an event where several bloggers link from one blog to the next for a fun day or week of blogging. There is usually some sort of common theme for the event.

This particular blog tour is tons of fun because there are spots for 72 blogs. The tour is divided into castles and then several blogs are linked under each honorary queen. Each blog will highlight a specific set from the current catalog and will share several projects made with each set.

You can see the possibility for a lot of inspiration. Another fabulous aspect of this tour is that there are a lot of blogs and many individual blogs will be offering BLOG CANDY! If those aspects of the tour aren’t enough to get you motivated to join in the fun, there is also a Royal Giveaway that is a very nice prize. You’ll need to gather clues and fill out an entry form to be in the Grand Prize drawing where the winner may choose either a Big Shot or My Digital Studio software or $100 in Stampin’ Up merchandise.

I thought that might get your attention, so be sure to visit my blog November 5-8 to join the fun on the Royal Blog Tour!

Angelic Joy

I made this card for a challenge and then didn’t get it posted in time. Oh well! I love it so much I think I’ll use it for Stamp a Stack next month. I can never get a good picture of the sparkly stuff, but this card is very sparkly. I used the Champagne Mist shimmer spray. Even the ribbon is sparkly which is seam binding ribbon that has been sprayed and scrunched to shape.

Stampin Stuff

Paper: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke card stock
