Another Haunted Forest

haunted forest

Here is another card that I made using the Haunted Forest image. Another demonstrator dared me to use up some of the “extra” pieces on my desk from the previous days creative session ( thanks Judy!). I end up with a lot of those. Pieces that are created when what is going on in my head doesn’t translate to paper in the way that I thought it would.

I played with this piece originally without the sponging, but the image got a little lost in the DSP.  It really was a different creative process for me, to start with a piece that I had to use and then build the rest of the card around that. It was fun though, and I may revisit this card design because I have already come up with a couple of touches that I wish I would have added!

Christmas Stocking

Holiday Stocking

How cute is this little Christmas Stocking? There are lots of little goodies that can be tucked inside. The best part  is that you don’t need a pattern or a lot of cutting. There is a new die in the holiday mini catalog that will cut them out for you! There is an accent die, also. I used it to make the holly berry decoration on the stocking. I will be using these a lot this season!

Haunted Forest

I absolutely adore this image. It’s so spooky and sweet.  It hints of cooler weather, a plethora of pumpkin goodies and little munchkins in sweet costumes. It makes me want to put in my Sleepy Hollow DVD and gaze at Johnny Depp for while. I can’t wait for fall!
When I saw this Haunted Forest stamp in the Holiday mini, I knew I wanted to mask  a moon and sponge in a spooky sky.  I embossed the image with Iridescent Ice to give it some sparkle. I started out with a matted image, but then decided to really glitz it up with a glittered chipboard piece. I have to admit that I really had fun creating this card!
Thanks for stopping by!

Cookie Stamps!

Cookie stamps

Look what is coming in October!! Aren’t these fun? These new cookie stamps are so cool. They feature a wooden handle with silicone images that can be removed for washing.

We saw these presented in the cute little boxes below at convention. The boxes are available in the upcoming Holiday mini catalog. What a fun little gift. I can’t wait to play with these!

Warmest of Wishes

warmest of wishes

This is a fun little treat that we made at stamp camp this month. Remember when we used to have to print a box pattern onto card stock, cut it out, score it with a stylus and then glue or tape it together to assemble? I do. I must admit that I am hopelessly spoiled by my Big Shot with all the adorable little box dies we have to choose from. It’s so easy to roll a piece of card stock through the Big shot and then just fold the box together. Those neat little treats for the holidays are so much quicker and easier to make now!

I used several sets for this little goody. The adorable little owl is from a hostess set being offered in the new Holiday Mini catalog. The limb is from a darling new set called out on a limb. You are going to want this one, it has several scene elements that can be used for many other things (clouds, moon, limb, sweet witch, broom and more). The little candies have belly bands that have been stamped with It’s a Wrap Holidays, also from the new mini. Four little Hershey Treasures fit perfectly in this little match box.

Gently Falling

gently falling

Good Morning! Storms last week left me without power for a couple of days, which threw me behind on everything. I did manage to get a little stamping by flashlight done, but that was out of absolute necessity! Even with the power outages, we were thrilled to see the rain here. The cooler temperatures, though still in the 90’s, were a boost to our spirits. With everyone longing for fall weather, I thought this would be the perfect card to share today.

I haven’t stamped with a two set stamp set in a while and I have to say after using this one, I may be hooked again! I stamped the outline image, and then filled in with the background stamp. Instant coloring!  Two step stamping suits a leaf set so well, because you can add additional colors to the stamp using a sponge dauber. Love the quick and easy stamping.

I think this spice cake paper is my favorite from the new Holiday mini. The touch of blue adds a beautiful pop to the fall colors. I noticed this color combination all over the place when I was shopping the other day. I bought a shirt that matches beautifully. I feel a scrapbook page coming on…

Happy Stampin!

More Stitched Stockings

stitched stockings

Today I have another fun little card using the Stitched Stockings set. This is such a fun set to play with! It’s a fairly quick and easy card, but I fussed with it a little more than most people would! You could use the punch to cut out the stockings and it would go more quickly. You can make the most adorable stocking cards using the set and punch together or either one on it’s own. Yesterday, I used both together. On this card, I used the set alone and hand cut the stockings.

Tomorrow I am going to force myself to play with some of my other new goodies 🙂

Thanks for looking!

This is the first card I was able to put together with my pre-order from the yummy new Holiday mini catalog that goes live on September 1st. I can’t wait for you to see it! Until then, I’ll keeping posting fun little sneak peeks like this one! Isn’t the little Christmas stocking adorable? Even more fun is the matching Stocking Builder Punch that works with it! Love it! The Frostwood DSP is traditional, but with a masculine appeal. I’ll be using this one a lot this season. Last but not least, I have to bring your attention to the gorgeous new quilted ribbon. It comes in Cherry Cobbler and Chocolate Chip. Mmmmm, that even sounds yummy. I’ll be back tomorrow with more sneak peeks, so stay tuned!
