Choo Choo!

Choo Choo

I made this little photo Album for my niece. Her little one will be 1 in September and I thought she would have lots of photos to add to it. I used the Choo Choo set to decorate it, along with various punches and die cuts. It was really fun to decorate. I forgot to photograph it, so I grabbed a couple of last second pictures when I gave it to her. Each side of each circle is different, with mats and embellishments.

I used Craft Ink and clear embossing powder and then cut out the images. I often use our classic inks when I am scrapping, because they are quicker to dry. Inside an album, fading isn’t as much of a factor. On projects like this though, that are more designed for display, I always use the Craft Inks for their fade proof qualities. The little mini album is the scallop chip board album from the last mini. These are great little gifts and because they are smaller in size, they are easy and quick to decorate. Our new sanding kit was a must have, when it came time to sand down the DSP that I used to cover the chip board.

I highly recommend you stock up on a few of these as they become available in the mini catalogs. They make such awesome gifts. I wish I had a few more of these scalloped ones, but there is an adorable briefcase/suitcase one in the current mini that I can see many uses for. This time I am going to order a few extras while they are still avaiable!

Love This Hydrangea!

I love, love, LOVE this hostess set! The Level One Hostess sets are wonderful this year! I want every one of them!

I have to admit that I am addicted to our textured impressions embossing folders. They do so much to step up a card and it is such a quick and easy process. I used the Square Lattice folder for this card. I stamped the hydrangea in Sahara Sand first.

Hydrangeas often change colors as they age. To get this look, I inked the stamp in Sahara Sand first and then sponged on a little Cherry Cobbler with a sponge dauber. You can’t see it in the pic, but I added shimmer mist to the main image.

The Cherry Cobbler layer is done using the Top note die. I used a piece of card stock that was about 3/4 of an inch larger than I needed in height and then trimmed the top and bottom with the top note die.

The ladies who attended definitely came to stamp! I saw some awesome cards and pages. I think next time we should take some pics and share with everyone.

The card I am posting today is one from Stamp Camp this month. I am loving all of the vintage, ephemera, retro styles that are hot this year. This stuff is soooo totally me. If you like this style too, you will love the new Holiday mini that is coming in September!
