Washcloth Cupcakes

This project has no stamping, but it is such a fun and easy way to spruce up a gift, that I had to share. One of the items that I gave my nephew and his new bride for their wedding was a cake plate with a dome. My friend, Laurie McClary had shown me an adorable cupcake made using wash cloths and packaged up in a cello bag. I got to thinking that our Perfect Settings XL Bigz Die would make quick work of these little cuties! Since I saw that first cupcake, I have seen them decorated in a lot of different ways with all kinds of fun little gifts tucked in.

I cut out the cupcake wrap and then used the Scalloped Heart of Hearts embosslit to cut the little heart. The DSP is from the Spring Mini Catalog. I rolled up the Wash Cloths and arranged them in the cupcake wrap, which was closed at the back using sticky tape.

I was wondering if it looked enough like a cupcake when my 18 month old grandbaby toddled up and said “mmmmm, I’n bite”. Which translated means, “Hey! That looks like a cupcake!” So, I filled up the cake plate and sealed it up in some cello wrap and tied it up with a ribbon. Fun, Fun!
