Embellishment Opportunities

crazy for cupcakes

Many of you have heard me say it……”There are no stamping mistakes, only embellishment opportunities!” This card is one of those which turned out very different than the original design I had intended, due to a couple of those “opportunities”. I love the way it all came together, though.

The first mistake I mean, opportunity, was cutting my ribbon too short, but playing with it gave me this pretty application. One I will be using again. I really like it!

The next thing that didn’t work out as originally planned was the rub-on sentiment. First, I used the white sentiment from Chit Chat. It got lost in the paper design and the design showed through a little.  I wanted  to use the dark one, but instead of starting over with a new layer; I decided to offset the white a little and give it a shadow or embossed look. Turned out even better than I had hoped!

Those rub-ons are addictive! You get over 150 sayings in two colors and they are so easy to apply. This card also uses the Rasberry Tart DSP (Gorgeous). The colors are Pretty in Pink, Cameo Coral, Real Red, Rose Red and Kiwi Kiss. I also used the Ribbon Originals-Pigtails. The Kiwi polkadot is so much fun, I’ll be using it up quickly! Of course, the set is Crazy for Cupcakes. You’ll be seeing a lot of this one.

Crazy for Cupcakes!

Crazy for Cupcakes

Crazy for Cupcakes!

This was a fun card to make! I folded the top note cutout over for a neat little frame and added brads.

The image is stamped on watercolor paper with Black Staz-On Ink.

The paper and inks are Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette and Bella DSP. The wash behind the image is Barely Banana and Lavender Lace ink.

The ribbon is the Riding Hood Red from the Dress Up Ribbon Originals, with the Pretty in Pink Taffeta layered on. I use our Snail adhesive to the back of my ribbon to make quick self adhesive ribbon.

I am trying to build up my gallery samples so I plan on trying to make several cards from each set. I hope you don’t get sick of this one, it’s one of my favorites!

Valentine Projects

cookie holder

These are fun little Valentine projects that we made at Stamp Camp.

The first is from the new catalog, a cookie holder, but this cute little heart shaped box will hold all kinds of Valentine treats.

The box was cut from a pattern that we traced onto the textured card stock.

love you much

This card also uses the Love You Much stamp set, the Candy Lane DSP and the three heart punch.

I used Chocolate Chip and Riding Hood Red card stocks and ink and Riding Hood Red grosgrain and tafeta ribbon.

Stamp-A-Stack Cards

Stamp-A-Stack This Thursday

These are the cards we are doing for stamp-a-stack this week at stamp camp. They are simpler designs so that we can get finished in the time allotted.   Please RSVP with your card specifics if you plan to attend. Bixby Community Center, 6-9 PM .

Inspired by nature

This card uses the Inspired by Nature stamp set, which is not currently in the catalog, but is still available for order. See all the dormant sets by clicking the link in the blog bar to the right

I used Tangerine Tango, and Kiwi Kiss.

The large flower is popped up so that it extends off the stamped layer.

crazy for cupcakes

I love this card! I used the Sale-A-Bration designer paper for the awning to get  that bakery window look. The set is Crazy for Cupcakes. I also used the new eyelet border punch and of course some glitter (dazzle effects) to make those cupcakes look good enough to eat!

The colors are Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and So Saffron.

 Branch out

The next two cards are actually one card design, but I wanted to show a couple of ways to stamp it so that you can get a masculine looking card if you like.

Chocolate Chip, Melow Moss and Regal Rose are the colors and the stamp sets are Branch Out and the Yummy Sale-A-Bration Set.

 Branch out

I just changed the orientation on this one and added photo corners.

thoughts and prayers

This is a very simple card to make, but it looks nicer in person because the background is textured with the new texture plates from Stampin’ Up!.

The Top Note Die makes the perfect frame for a simple, elegant card.

This card uses Baha Breeze and Chocolate Chip.

flight of the butterfly

Here is a pretty color combo. Tempting Turquoise, Lovely Lilac, and Green Galore.

The big butterly from Flight of the Butterfly is popped up, as well as one of the small ones.

The grass is from the Inspired by Nature set.

Happy Stampin!
